Zaatar

Zaatar is the Arabic term for thyme and the generic term for a spice blend of thyme, sumac (generally unavailable in the U.S.), toasted sesame seeds and salt.

Zaatar is traditionally mixed with olive oil and pinched with pita bread.

It adds a unique flavor to everything it touches - pizza, eggs and salads, sauces - and there's nothing better with feta cheese. I won't do without Zaatar in my kitchen.
